We drive out to the village for the cycling (pick-up is available from your city accommodation) so you don’t have to bike all the way out there! This heritage landscape is dotted with beautiful old hop kilns. Hops have been grown here for over 100 years and there are many craft breweries in the district. The cycling day begins with a guided visit to a private hop garden, where visitors can look inside a working hop kiln and walk amongst the hops in the field. The rest of the day is self-guided cycling, exploring the quiet country roads with expansive views across valleys of hop gardens to the mountains. The Buddhist retreat, with its relaxing hillside gardens, is a great picnic stop and there is one winery on the route. In the village is a craft studio, pantry store, historic church, ice-cream and coffee shop and of course the pub (serving local craft beer) where we meet our cyclists at the end of the day. We can also stop for a tasting at a brewery on the way back into the city
